Merry Christmas!

As we look back on the year 2011 we see our many accomplishments. We can attest that
“Dreams Do Come True”.

Darrel graduated from the University of New England with a Master’s degree in Nursing Anesthesia. We are so proud of him! While living in New England he is surrounded by Patriot fans but shows his Raven pride in the ER with his Baltimore Ravens scrub hat. He also joined the Naval Reserves and enjoys wearing a uniform.
Nicole loves Maine so much that she convinced Darrel to accept a job further north! There just wasn’t enough snow in southern Maine. She looks forward to putting her design skills to work in their new home. She survived 27 months of graduate school, which is a huge accomplishment.
Daryl Cinnamon just turned 7! Her birthday fell on Thanksgiving this year. She had the pleasure of celebrating with her extended family and said it was the best birthday ever! She loves the outdoors. She enjoys using her hands and is always creating something out of practically nothing. Science is her favorite subject. She memorized all 13 Articles of Faith.
Corey is 5. He is such a compassionate soul. He is full of charity and love. He helps with his younger siblings and likes to make them happy. Corey lost his first two teeth in two days. Over the summer he learned to go under water in the pool. He also memorized all 13 Articles of Faith.
Nicolas is 5. He learned to ride a big two-wheel bike with no training wheels. He lost his first tooth and is soon to lose a second. He learned to make paper airplanes and paper boats. He loves football and baseball. Nicolas enjoys baking and setting the table.
Spencer just turned 4! He received a new bike for his birthday and it is his most prized possession. He loves anything army related along with cars, trucks and airplanes. He potty trained himself this year, which makes Momma very happy.
Lillian is 2. She loves her dollies and babies. She is usually somewhere in the house with a baby in tow. She has tender mother instincts. She has fun playing with older brother Spencer and is usually running away from younger brother Lucas who delights in making her scream.
Lucas is 1. So far, he is still the baby of the family. He has a handsome smile and a hug that melts your heart. He learned to sit up, crawl, walk, run and conquer the stairs all in one year. Way to go Luke!

To be truly happy and avoid misery, we must have a grateful heart. It is not easy to be consistently grateful in all things in the trials of life. Sickness, disappointment and the loss of people we love come at times in our lives. Our sorrows can make it hard to see our blessings and to appreciate the blessings God has in store for us in the future. Remember that God the Father gave His Son, and Jesus Christ gave us the Atonement, the greatest of all gifts and all giving. Let us choose to be grateful.

As a family, we are striving to improve upon ourselves. As we do so, we know that we will be happy with our progress and continue to move onward and upward.
