The children went to our Maine Grandparents this afternoon. When I went over to bring them home Grandma J says, "D was telling me what she learned about the prophets." This was a fun conversation as D and I recounted all the accidents Wilford Woodruff survived growing up. Grandma J questioned why W.W. experienced so much opposition. Then she answered her own question as she stated that the Lord preserved his life for a very important purpose.
• Fell into pot of scolding hot water … age 3
• Broke left arm… age 3-8
• Chased by a bull because of a pumpkin… age 3-8
• Broke right arm… age 3-8
• Nearly smothered by hay… age 3-8
• Turned over in a wagon… age 8
• Fell out of a elm tree... age 8-12
• Nearly drowned in the Farmington River .. age 12
• Almost froze to death ….age 13
• Split inside of foot with an ax … age 14
• Bit in the hand by a mad dog … age 15
• Bucked off by a horse breaking his leg and other severe injuries… age 17
